Yo yo yo!!! Im in NISEKO and its soo cool. Nothing really to report from the journey on the 28th. I arrived in Sapporo and jumped on my coach to Niseko and with me was young Jonathan Whipp a kid from Manchester heading to Niseko working for NBS also! We had the coach to ourselves and got to know each other.
When we arrived in Hirafu, our manager Pauly came to pick us up. He is a ski instructor but will be more managing, and is from Australia – seems like a real solid dude. He took us to Seikomart for a mini shop and then I got to meet the crew! Everyone is pretty sound and it wasn’t like when i first met the staff at Turoa. I think its because there are a lot new staff.
It started snowing when we arrived and it hasn’t stopped since. Its insane, the location of our accommodation is perfect, right next to the slopes and really close to our ski school office – its ski in ski out and its just perfect. I am sharing a room with a sweet dude called Kay from Switzerland. He is a skier and is super chill its nice. My room is pretty big and traditional. There is bambooy flooring and the other traditional thing is the sit down shared showers! I havent had a shower with anyone else yet but it will be interesting when there are more people in there. Ill just think of it like a changing room.
There hasn’t been much to do with the hill not open, its been snowing loads and we’ve been like caged animals waiting for training and our passes. Training starts December 3rd!
I am trying to think what else I have been upto and apart from orientating myself with the place, thats been about it. In the down time Ollie and Larissa came over from Niseko Villiage and just been jamming with Chloe and the rest of the crew its been awesome. I have been working on my CASI Level 3 notes and trying to get it all done before we start training but there is craploads to do!!
We’ve been issued with cell phones which is cool and thats really about it
Ill report in later with some more good stuff
Peace and love
Koo
