The majority of time since my last blog I have been pretty ill still so havent been doing a whole lot, hence the delay in my update here from Kune. I was ill on Friday so didnt go to the hill and on Saturday and Sunday I did work, however didn’t get any teach hours, the hill was dead on the weekend. During the weekend I didnt do much apart from watch flash forward and rest. Chris and Hannah arrived on Thursday and it was good to see them for sure!
Really not much else has been going on, with the illness I havent been doing a whole lot of riding but this week I have been slightly better and as a result slightly more active. Monday and Tuesday were spent in training with Rob. Monday was a Pedagogy day where we learnt how to train instructors. The morning was spent indoors understanding how we are assessed and evaluated for Pedagogy and then in the afternoon we went out and practised which was pretty cool. I am starting to see how much this training is going to help our exams with the practical experience, the practise and the training we are receiving. Its all pretty good. Tuesday was spent doing practise teaching and learning how to structure our lessons and teach. My practise teach went terribly but its all good. The amount of knowledge being passed over the two days was soo much my brain was overloaded. Snowboarding is being taken to a whole new technical level.
It was Stueys 21st birthday so we chilled round his, the entire snowschool were there and some more. I invited a random I met called Paulo who has come to NZ just to do some shadow hours so he can do his BASI 2. He was a super chill guy. Spent another staff night at the Turoa lodge. It was pretty similar to most staff nights and thats about it really.
Not much else has been going on, haven’t been going to the gym, I had an awesome interview with Niseko Base Snowsports, and hopefully I can get work for Alex Simpson and get some company out there!! Lets see how we go!!
